FAQs

At Forestside Grooming, I believe that a well-groomed dog is not only a smart dog but a happy dog too!

Having your dog regularly professionally groomed achieves so much more than just a shiny coat. It also enables the groomer to assess the dog's general well-being in terms of skin health, coat condition, and parasitic infestations. It is always best to check with your veterinarian about any abnormalities found.

Obviously, some breeds require more frequent grooming than others. The recommended frequency for the higher maintenance breeds is as follows:

Poodle: 4 to 6 weeks

Shih Tzu: 6 to 8 weeks

West Highland White Terrier: 8 to 10 weeks

Cocker Spaniel: 8 to 10 weeks

Yorkshire Terrier: 8 to 10 weeks

The cost of having your dog groomed depends on the breed and condition of the coat. A heavily matted coat will take much longer to brush out than that of a dog, which is regularly brushed by its owner. I, therefore, need to charge accordingly. I do recommend that you brush your dog as frequently as you can between visits to help prevent matting and knotting. Prices quoted are based on your dog being groomed at recommended intervals. Please ensure your dog is flea-free before attending. Any flea infestations will have a £10 charge applied to your appointment. Please telephone to discuss your requirements.

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please ensure you give me 24 hours' notice where applicable.
